Check out my Equipment page. There are some new arrivals, including an Apogee 16AD. Lots of bands like to track their basics to tape at GWRR and convert them to digital to work on at home. I found myself doing more and more of this for my clients, and the Apogee helps ensure that, when we start chopping up sine waves, we get a reasonably good picture of what went to tape. Which, if your not into infinite resolution and all that...well, don't get me started.
Also working on a pair of diy LA-2A clones. Look for updates and pictures soon.
I'm told I should get a MySpace page and it will solve all of my problems. I'm just not sure I've got the body for that anymore.

Currently knee deep in the Open Hand full-length for Anodyne. Cool stoner rock from LA.

Check out the new record from NY's The Forms. Vocals, bass, and some guitars were recorded here at GWRR. Drums and mixing done at Electrical Audio in Chicago. Real good stuff, people.
I have also recently finished records for several local bands. "Slow Motion Quest" is the new full-length from Pulsar 47. And we are currently shopping for a home for the Tractor Kings' newest full-length. Stay tuned!
And, hey, I have some openings in December still if you want to sneak in before the holidays. Drop me an email and let's make some rock.

Great Western Record Recorders is an analog recording studio owned and operated by Matt Talbott (previously singer/guitarist for Hum). A 750 square-foot wood and plaster live room is the center piece of an artist-friendly and beautifully constructed facility which offers new as well as seasoned musicians a rich and creative environment. The studio is located in an historic turn-of-the-century two-story brick building in downtown Tolono, Illinois, just south of Champaign, and offers just enough isolation for you to immerse yourself in your music without worldly interruption.
